Description

This Apple Bread Recipe delivers cozy fall flavors year-round with tender apple chunks and a cinnamon-swirled moist loaf perfect for any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan. Optionally, line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract and milk until fully combined.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Gently fold in chopped apples.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top. Optionally, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar or extra brown sugar.
  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10–15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze for added sweetness.
  • Serve with Greek yogurt, mascarpone, fruit, or cheese for brunch.
  • Present in mini loaves or as slices on a serving board with spreads.
  • Store in airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate if needed.
  • Freeze whole or sliced (with parchment between slices) for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat in oven at 300°F for best texture; avoid long microwave heating.
  • Use any apple variety; tart ones like Granny Smith work best.
  • Prevent sogginess by blotting juicy apple pieces before folding in.
  • Make gluten-free using a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
  • Add nuts, dried fruit, or caramel swirl for extra texture and flavor.
