- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups egg noodles
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
- Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, milk, sour cream, tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the cooked beef mixture and noodles to the bowl and mix well to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
- Let sit for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.
- For a crunchier topping, sprinkle crushed crackers or breadcrumbs over the cheese before baking.
- Great for freezing; just thaw and reheat when needed.
