Description

This Amish Apple Fritter Bread is a delightful treat that combines the flavors of cinnamon-spiced apples in a moist and tender loaf. Perfect for a cozy autumn morning or as a sweet ending to any meal.


Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large apple, peeled and chopped (about 1 cup)

For Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix cinnamon sugar: Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; set aside.
  3. Cream sugar and butter: In a large bowl, cream granulated sugar and softened butter until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk flour and baking powder. Alternately add flour mixture and milk to the creamed mixture.
  5. Layer batter and apples: Pour half the batter into the pan, top with apples and cinnamon sugar. Repeat layers and swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool, then drizzle with glaze.
