Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
Wet Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large apple, peeled and chopped (about 1 cup)
For Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mix cinnamon sugar: Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; set aside.
- Cream sugar and butter: In a large bowl, cream granulated sugar and softened butter until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk flour and baking powder. Alternately add flour mixture and milk to the creamed mixture.
- Layer batter and apples: Pour half the batter into the pan, top with apples and cinnamon sugar. Repeat layers and swirl with a knife.
- Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool, then drizzle with glaze.
