These Almost Chick Fil-A Chicken Nuggets are a delicious homemade version of the popular fast-food favorite. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor, these nuggets are perfect for a family-friendly meal or party appetizer.
Ingredients
Chicken Nuggets:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup dill pickle juice
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: Combine chicken pieces and pickle juice in a bowl. Marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Prepare Coating: Whisk together milk and egg in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and baking powder.
- Dredge the Chicken: Drain marinated chicken and pat dry. Dip each piece in the milk-egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Fry the Nuggets: Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F. Fry nuggets in batches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Drain on paper towels and serve warm with dipping sauce.
Notes
- For a lighter version, air fry at 375°F for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying with oil.
- Serve with honey mustard or a homemade Chick Fil-A style sauce.
