Ingredients
Cookies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch

- 1/2 cup sliced almonds (optional for garnish)
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in almond extract.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Shape and bake: Roll dough into balls, flatten, and bake for 8–10 minutes until slightly golden.
- Make glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
- Finish: Top with sliced almonds if desired and let the glaze set before serving.
