Description

A quick and easy way to make crispy, juicy hot dogs in the air fryer! With just a few simple steps, you’ll have perfectly cooked hot dogs with golden, crispy edges and soft, toasted buns.

Ingredients

  • 1. 4-6 Hot dogs (beef, chicken, turkey, or vegetarian)
  • 2. 4-6 Soft hot dog buns
  • 3. Cooking spray (optional, for crispy skin)
  • 4. Condiments (ketchup, mustard, relish, etc.)
  • 5. Toppings (diced onions, shredded cheese, sauerkraut, jalapeños, pickles, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Lightly score your hot dogs with a knife, making a few diagonal slashes or pricks to prevent bursting and help crisp the edges.
  2. Place the hot dogs in the air fryer basket in a single layer. If desired, lightly spray with cooking oil.
  3. Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 5-6 minutes, shaking halfway through for even crispiness. Check for a golden-brown exterior and sizzling skin.
  4. While the hot dogs cook, toast the buns in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes until golden and crisp.
  5. Assemble by placing each hot dog into a toasted bun and top with your favorite condiments and toppings. Serve immediately!

Notes

  • If cooking frozen hot dogs, add 2-3 extra minutes to the cooking time.
  • For soft buns, spritz lightly with water before air frying or toast them just before serving.
  • For a fun twist, try slicing hot dogs into bite-sized pieces and serving on skewers with dips for parties.
