Ingredients
Meat and Seasoning
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Cheese and Wraps
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 large flour tortillas
Condiments and Optional Toppings
- Ketchup, for serving
- Mustard, for serving
- Optional: pickles
- Optional: lettuce
- Optional: tomato slices
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for cooking the wraps evenly and getting that perfect crisp.
- Cook the Ground Beef and Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and diced onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through, and the onions are softened. Drain any excess fat to prevent sogginess.
- Season the Beef Mixture: Sprinkle the cooked beef and onions with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine all the flavors evenly.
- Assemble the Wraps: Lay the large flour tortillas flat and divide the beef mixture evenly among them, spreading it out in the center of each tortilla.
- Add the Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously on top of the beef inside each tortilla for a melty, cheesy filling.
- Roll the Wraps: Roll up each tortilla tightly to form a wrap, making sure to tuck in the edges slightly to keep the filling secure.
- Prepare for Air Frying: Place the wraps seam side down into the air fryer basket. Arrange them in a single layer; you might need to cook in batches depending on your air fryer size.
- Air Fry the Wraps: Cook the wraps for 8-10 minutes at 375°F, or until the tortillas are golden and crispy and the cheese inside has melted completely.
- Serve: Remove the wraps from the air fryer and serve them warm. Add ketchup, mustard, and optional toppings like pickles, lettuce, or tomato slices as desired for that classic cheeseburger flavor.
Notes
- Ensure you drain excess fat from the beef after cooking to keep the wraps crisp.
- For a spicier kick, add some chili powder or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- These wraps can be made ahead and reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispness.
- Use whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas as an alternative to regular flour tortillas if desired.
