Description

These Korean Chinese shrimp toasts are a delightful fusion of flavors, combining savory shrimp paste with the crunch of sesame seeds, all fried to golden perfection. Perfect for parties or as a tasty appetizer, these toasts are sure to be a hit with your guests.


Ingredients

Shrimp Mixture:

  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • Vegetable oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Prepare Shrimp Mixture: Finely chop or pulse shrimp in a food processor until a sticky paste forms. Mix in egg white, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, cornstarch, and white pepper.
  2. Assemble Toasts: Spread shrimp mixture onto bread slices, sprinkle sesame seeds, and cut into triangles.
  3. Fry Toasts: Fry in oil until golden on both sides.
  4. Serve: Enjoy hot with your favorite sauce.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, air fry at 375°F for 6–8 minutes or bake at 400°F for 10–12 minutes until golden and crisp.
