uttapam is a South Indian Breakfast. We will prepare Uttapam recipe with idli batter. We can say uttapam or uttappa is a thick pan cake topped with some vegetables. This time i am showing very basic version of uttapam which is topped with onions & coriander leaves. in andhra uttapam is called as dibba rotti or minapa rotti. urad dal in telugu is minapa roti as it is made up of urad dal. so it is called as minapputtapam in andhra version. you can have this uttapam for breakfast or snack or light dineer. You can enjoy this uttapam with Chutneys like
how to make andhra uttapam
- Finely chop the onions.
- Heat a pan and spread the oil or ghee over it with the help of spoon or spatula (set the flame to medium).
- Add the 2 or 2 ½ large spoon of the idly batter into the middle of the tawa and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the chopped onions on top of the uttapa.Now sprinkle the chopped coriander leaves on top of the uttapa.
- And add oil or ghee around the uttapa.
- After the down side of the uttapa got golden color the flip to the other side and cook until onions are cooked or it gets golden color.
- Delicious and hot uttapas are ready, serve immediately.
- You can have this with any podi or chutneys or sambar.
- Repeat the same for rest of the batter.
