Apple Strudel Recipe is a continental traditional Dessert which has an unbelievable taste. I am very much happy 🙂 to share apple strudel as my 150th recipe in my blog because it is very very tasty dessert. Actually I did this apple strudel to celebrate my blog’s 6 months birthday. After I had this strudel I am preparing regularly this dessert. Caution: Don’t miss this awesome taste. Really I am telling Apple strudel is one of my top most favorite dessert. It has little bit process but you will forget about it after you enjoyed its taste.

Ingredients used in slow cooker apple strudel recipe

  • All purpose flour / Maida – 150 grams (more than ½ cup)
  • Apple – 1 medium (should be fresh & sweet)
  • Sugar – 5 tbsp for dough & 12 tbsp for stuffing
  • Egg – 1
  • Salt – 1/4th tbsp
  • Water
  • Raisins – Handful
  • Almonds – 20
  • Milk – 4 – 5 tbsp
  • Bread slices – 6
  • Oil – 3 tbsp olive oil / vegetable oil – I used Olive Oil
  • Melted butter – 3 tbsp for stuffing & other 3 tbsp for baking

  1. Take a bowl add all purpose flour, salt, sugar, oil, egg & mix well.

  2. Now add water and mix like a soft dough (knead nicely), rest the dough for 1 hour & cover the dough with kitchen towel.

  3. Chop the almonds into medium size pieces.

  4. Take a small bowl add raisins, milk & soak them for at least for 45 min.

    raisins soaked for 1 hour

  5. Take a mixy jar add bread pieces and just run the mixy to get bread crumbs.

  6. Heat a kadai add butter & fry the bread crumbs until they get nice golden color.

  7. Wash & peel the skin of apple and cut the apple into thin slices.

  8. Take a bowl add apple slices, sugar, almonds, soaked raisins along with milk & mix thoroughly (This is stuffing mixture).

  9. Take a long cotton cloth & spread the cloth on a flat surface.
  10. Now sprinkle lot of maida on cloth.

  11. Now take dough on that cloth and roll it out as thin as possible like long oval shape (sprinkle flour when you needed).

  12. Now apply butter on the dough but don’t apply butter on the edges of the dough.
  13. Spread the bread crumbs nicely on the top of the dough again leave the edges (don’t spread the bread crumbs on edges.)

  14. Now spread the apple mixture evenly on top of the bread crumbs & leave the edges empty as usual.

  15. Now fold the dough gently like a roll and seal all the edges of the dough gently.

  16. Now take the cake pan / aluminum pan grease with butter and dust the pan with maida.
  17. Now place the strudel gently into a baking pan & brush with butter all over the strudel.

  18. Remove the gasket and whistle / regulator of the pressure cooker and add water (1/4th level of pressure cooker) and keep the separator plate and cover with its lid.
  19. Bake the strudel on high flame for 40 – 50 min (while baking apply butter on top of the strudel twice.).
  20. Check the strudel from 40 min onwards when your strudel color was changed then you can switch off the flame (mine it was taken 50 min+).
  21. After strudel was cooked, remove the cooker lid and rest it for 10 min.
  22. After strudel was cool down cut them into pieces.

Note:

  1. Take exact measurements of the ingredients.
  2. Through out the process remove the gasket and whistle from the pressure cooker lid.
  3. Bake the strudel on high flame for atleast 50 min, while baking apply the butter twice.
  4. If you are not having cake pan, you can use any aluminum round pan.
  5. Check the strudel from 40 min onwards when your strudel color was changed (little golden spots should come all over the strudel) then you can swich off the flame (mine it was taken 50 min+).
  6. For this pressure cooker version little bit color difference will be there.
