  1. Wash & soak the chana dal for 1 hour.
  2. Now pressure cook the dal for 2 – 3 whistles.
  3. Take a mixy jar or blender add coconut pieces, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, salt, turmeric powder & make them into fine powder(you should not add water while grinding the coconut powder).
  4. Heat a mini pressure cooker or kadai, add oil.
  5. After oil gets heated add cumin, mustard seeds, red chilies, turmeric powder and fry for 1 – 2 minutes.
  6. Now add the coconut powder & fry for 1 – 2 minutes.
  7. Now add the cooked chana dal (remove excess water) and mix gently and fry for 2 minutes.
  8. Switch off the flame.
  9. Now yummy & simple dal fry recipe is ready.
  10. You can serve this chana dal recipe with rice roti chapati.
