CHANA DAL CHUTNEY

CHANA DAL CHUTNEY is a south Indian popular chutney. Chana dal chutney is a combination of chana dal & coconut. This chutney has very simple & fast process. If there are no vegetables at home, you can prefer this chutney to prepare. If you are bored with regular chutneys for idly/dosa, then you can try this chutney it has wonderful taste  

 Ingredients:
  1. Chana dal – 45 grams
  2. Coconut pieces – 15 small pieces
  3. Red chilies – 3 – 4  medium (as per your taste)
  4. Salt – 1 ½ tbsp (as per your taste)
  5. Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
  6. Tamarind – 2 inches
  7. Jaggery – ½ of small lemon size
  8. Oil – 3 tbsp
  9. Water
Preparation Method:
  • Roast the chana dal for 2 min on medium flame, then add red chilies & cumin seeds and roast until you get nice aroma from the chana dal (it may take upto 7 – 8 min).

    CHANA DAL CHUTNEY

  • After chana dal gets roasted, remove them into a plate and cool them.
  • Chop the coconut into small pieces.
  • Take a mixy jar add chana dal, red chilies, coconut pieces, jeera, salt, jaggery, tamarind and make them into a paste (like chutney) with the help of water.

    CHANA DAL CHUTNEY

  • Heat a small pan add oil for tempering, after oil gets heated add jeera & red chilies fry for few seconds and add them into chutney bowl.

Serve this easy & yummy chutney with rice/rotis/idly/dosa.
