i do regularly this capsicum gravy at home as it is my favorite curry. shimla mirch is very good for healthy, try to include in your diet as much as possible. can serve capsicum gravy when it is hot. this capsicum gravy curry is for chapathi roti rice.

capsicum gravy recipe with step by step photos. i have used groundnuts, garlic and other spices to prepare gravy, groundnuts and garlic are delicious combination.  i have added maida in the gravy to make gravy little bit thick, in case you dislike maida then add 10 cashews as thickening agent.

the measurement cup used in the capsicum gravy curry is 250 ml. and the given measurements are sufficient for 3 people, for more people just double the quantities.

  • 3 -4 capsicum or bell peppers or shimla mirch
  • 50 grams ground nuts or peanuts
  • 5 pods of garlic
  •  3/4th spoon chilly powder  (as per your taste)
  • 1 ½ tbsp salt (as per your taste)
  • 1/2 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds or jeera
  • 1/4th tbsp shahjeera
  • 1/4th tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp maida or all purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 1/4th cup water

how to prepare capsicum gravy curry

  1. Wash all the capsicums thoroughly. chop bell peppers into cubes, dont add white mirch seeds in the curry remove them while chopping.

  2. Take a mixy jar and add groundnuts, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, maida or 10 cashew nuts, coriander seeds, shahjeera , salt, chilly powder.

  3. Now make them into paste with help of water.

  4. Heat a mini pressure cooker or kadai, add oil.
  5. Add the above gravy after oil gets hot, fry the gravy until oil oozes out. it make take around 5 minutes.
  6. if gravy is sticking to kadai then add some more oil and fry it.
  7. Now add capsicum pieces fry for 2 min.

  8. Add desired quantity of water and pressure cook the curry for 3 whistles.
  9. If any excess water is there in cooker then fry them until water evaporates.

Now yummy capsicum gravy dish is ready. you can serve this curry with rice , idli or rotis.

Notes If you prepare this curry in kadai then you need more quantity of water(more than ½ glass).
